These rules have been decided upon by the Front Office of the UWL. These rules apply to all UWL Talents and Promotions. They are not subject to negotiation. Failure to abide by these rules could result in your termination from the Unified Wrestling League and other UWL Promotions.
Please remember, these rules have been made based on experience and what has been proven to work best. These rules have not been made to restrict you, but to make the UWL a better place to wrestle. If you have any questions about the rules, something you don't understand or are not clear about, please feel free to ask.
GENERAL
- All decisions by the UWL Front Office are final and binding. This is not up for negotiation.
- The UWL is a simmed promotion, with substansial bonuses applied due to hard work in roleplaying and story work. We use the TNM 7 Simulator created by Oliver Kopp.
- The matches are made by President Denyer, in coordination with CEO Beacom, and handler requests.
- You are permitted to only handle two wrestlers at a time. Can either be a
tag team, or two singles. Special exemptions are granted by the Front Office
solely at their discretion.
- There is one card per week, Frenzy, which is every Friday. Frenzy is the main show, and will have
around 9-10 matches, not counting possible dark matches.
ROLEPLAYING
- Roleplaying is for beneficial purposes, you must roleplay once a week. Penalties for non-roleplaying include terminatinon from the UWL. Please see the LOA rule under Other Policies in regards to this matter.
- While we tolerate adult language, we ask that you please limit how much you use it, and only in an appropriate context. In other words, do not curse just for the purpose of cursing. When we see a profanity laced diatribe, it tells us two things. One is that you have no creativity. Two is that you are too immature to be kept on the roster. Remember the majority of your roleplays are televised, cursing is not permitted or will be censured.
- Do not refer to any 'real-life' wrestling organizations or wrestlers in your RPs. The only other e-fed recognized by the UWL is the AGW, and any use of AGW in rp's and angles must be cleared by the Front Office.
- The actual Front Office of the UWL is not to be used in any roleplays, and will not be involved in any angles, so don't bother asking. CEO Beacom will show up on UWL shows from time to time.
- The use of established professional wrestling catchphrases is strictly prohibited.
- Attacks (Physical) are not permitted in RP's, unless it is occuring to
someone classified as an NPC. Do not attack any of the UWL Staff in your roleplays or any of the UWL Talent either. This includes all wrestlers, managers, and Frenzy announcers. This can and will be met with severe penalties if you are caught.
- Roleplays that attack the following items are strictly prohibited : Religion, Race, and Gender.
- Refrain from using wrestling terms that would qualify you as 'smart' : angle, book, heel, face, push, job, etc. The Front Office enforces this rule on a case by case basis, and it is allowed to a certain extent. Please email the Front Office if you have any questions.
- The UWL does not have HOUSE SHOWS!!! Do not roleplay as if you are at a HOUSE SHOW!!! If you can not think of anything better to do as a scenario for an rp, the UWL does utilize the time tested set up of the simple UWL backdrop. Think of the old WWF interviews or how ECW did many of their promos.
- The roleplays should stick to events that occur in the UWL world. The
meaning behind this two-fold. One, handlers should not refer to other handlers
by their actual names. Two, no real life situations that have happened amongst
handlers is to be used either. Essentially...NO SHOOT INTERVIEWS.
CHALLENGES/ATTACKS
- All Talent New to the UWL, meaning we have never seen your work or heard of you are not permitted to execute any attacks during their first three weeks of on-air time. We want to see that you are willing to be active and participate fully before we allow you to run rampant.
You are allowed to submit segments introducing your character.
- Concerning Title matches: We try to keep the amount of these down, as to not lessen the values of the titles by having possible changes every week.
- Attacks/On-card Segments cut-off is 48 hours before the card. Frenzy - Due by 5:00 PM Wednesday.Pay Per Views - Due by 5:00 PM Friday the week before hand. The individual card writers reserve the right to alter this.
- The card line-ups are established by the Front Offices. If you have a special match in mind, please contact
President Denyer. This is done to keep the cards from being full of matches just for matches sake. If you don't communicate with the Front Office in regards to desired matches, or angles that necessitate matches, you lose the right to complain about matches you do or do not get.
- We reserve the right to modify (slightly) or refuse any attack sent to us. We usually receive many per card, and we simply can't use all of them. If we feel they are worthy, we will try to fit them in, but there is no guarantee.
- We will not use attacks that simply say 'I want to jump this guy and beat him up.' Show some creativity.
- When sending in attacks, you are not permitted to dictate how a match will end. For instance, you can't submit a segement that says 'I'm going to attack this guy, and then his opponent will be him for the title'. The only time you are allowed to dictate the end of the match is if you tell us you want your guy to lose for some reason or another.
- When sending in attacks, you are not permitted to put words into the mouths of other wrestlers. You are also not permitted to dictate the actions of others, beyond something that is normally done (walking, sitting in a locker room, etc.). If you want the person to say/do something to further work your story, it is not wrong to get in touch with them and work on it together. Attacks do not have to be surprises. We are in the business of having fun and some of the best angles or feuds come from
collaboration.
- When we do get an attack for a match, since we use a simulator, this is how we do it. We get an attack in. If the person being attacked comes out of the sim as a loser, then we say it was because of the attack. If the person being attacked comes out of the sim as a winner, we make it in spite of the attack, or it was because of a miscue on the attack that they won. We also reserve the right to have the attack after the match.
OTHER POLICIES
- LOA - Please contact CEO Beacom, copying President Denyer if you need to take a leave of absence.
- You are not to RP unless you have been accepted by the UWL. We will send you an email if you have been accepted. If you RP before notification, you are automatically rejected.
- Tag Team wrestlers are permitted to wrestle in singles matches.
- If you are singles wrestler, and you wrestle in a tag team match, it will not affect your singles ranking either way.
- For those familiar with TNM, the Front Office decides on your push score, and retain the right to alter it. Everyone gets a base score of 50 upon entering the UWL.
- If at any time, there is an opening for a position in the UWL, the handlers
will be notified. Do not ask until then.
CHARACTER CREATION
- We do not permit real wrestlers to be used here in the UWL. This goes the same for names of moves, managers and the like. Any application that we receive containing any of this will be thrown out.
- Use common sense when creating wrestlers. No 7 foot tall Luchadores, and no one that is 8 foot tall, and 600 lbs. Applications of this kind will not be excepted.
- The only time you are permitted to change the finisher/move set/style of your wrestler is if you are undergoing a gimmick change, or totally overhauling your character. You are permitted to do this once per calendar year. All new hires will be given a three month grace period from their starting date to make any tweaks to their character.
- At no time are you permitted to change the height of your wrestler. Any weight changes must be accompanied with an on-air reason.
- You are not permitted to "create" any moves. What is on the UWL's move list is what you get to pick from. If you think there is a move on the list that should be there, please contact CEO Beacom and President Denyer. If neither of them have heard of it or seen it, you will not be permitted to use it.*
- When selecting moves, select more than just high impact, high profile moves. Move lists recieved that contain nothing but high impact/high profile, will be rejected.
